spinning and jumping, hurry,

open the gate!

The gate swings open,

running through,

motions blur in a lively view.

Speed of a stallion,

excitement of a child,

all that’s seen is a flurry of wild.

Ears flopping, tail held high,

wagging so fast, it could lift to the sky.

Spirited eyes, a smile so wide,

tongue loose, nose twitching to guide.

Back and forth, up and down,

simply going round and round.

Fetching a stick, chasing a

ball, running full blast, at my call.

Exploring the landscape,a seeming abyss,

rolling in wet grass, legs thrown up in bliss.

Panting, satisfied, the pace slows its race…

until tomorrow, my wide open space.
